After I stopped playing video games, I realized how stagnating that hobby can be. You aren't improving anything about yourself, and accepting a pretend reward system like a baby sucking a pacifier.
The same desire you have to play would be helping you improve your real life skills and status in life if you just redirect it in a different way.

I pretty much stopped playing when I started my own company, decades ago.
I still do from time to time (retro-gaming) though.
