Probably not. I also wish Zenimax/Bethesda would do this for Elder Scrolls but they keep focusing on other things and just upgrading Skyrim which came out 10 years ago and ESO.
Skyrim is a great game! Wish they would come out with better AI for Civilization. Been waiting 10 years for something good and they went back in time on development
I want a decent AI for RPGs. A companion that knows when to stealth, which enemies to prioritize, when to heal, which gear to loot, and so forth. And enemies just as smart. It's 2021 and gaming AI is still in the era of "cheat your way out". Ideally I would be able to say things like "Hold this position until I get to that one badass" or "Dude. Stop picking fights with every low level prick you see"
Yes exactly. Developers are lazy and the game owners are to greedy to invest in real improvements to the game structure. Someday we will get a game engine that rocks.
If I had to guess, we are looking at another 4 to 5 years before we see another Elder Scrolls. They are still working on their space RPG, Starfield.
IMO it's more like 10 years.
