Where’d the time go?

Where’d the time go?

I still haven't beaten the final boss (GANON?) in the original Legend of Zelda.

"It's dangerous to go alone. Take this."

Thanks. A piece of shit sword. OK.. Got a better sword. Got a wood shield. Got a magic shield. Got the flaming torch. Got the Red Arrow. Got the Silver Arrow... (not sure, but I think there was some kind of Hammer of Justice) the red potions, the blue potions, the gold shield, the raft, the flute, the boomarang, the ladder. The fucking bombs. All 8 of them.

Still couldn't beat that final boss. I was on my 7th try when the world around me changed. Death in the family. Games put aside. Trivial bullshit like Nintendo rendered meaningless.

30 years later and I still want to beat that 8 bit bastard, but I have no access to a Nintendo Gaming System.

(I don't want the PC emulation. It's not the same, but thanks)

PC emulation arguably is better than the rerelease emulations now, especially if you use a frontend like Launchbox, Photon, Pegasus, Playnite or just create a shortcut of the rom to put on a special folder so it doesn't feel like you boot up an overloaded UI emulator

Currently, NES Zelda is tied to an online subscription (20€ yearly), but on the handheld/console before the Switch hybrid (3DS/Wii U) you can get it for 2€ on sale I'm pretty sure

First is still a different feeling bc of Handheld and second needs homebrew for USB NES controllers/can't CRT
