I have a habit of losing my stuff far from start. I don't mind that I have to travel to get it, or even if I have to build up a tech base to protect myself while I travel. But I don't have hours-long blocks of time to try to do it in the same session. Is there a mod that will either stop stuff from despawning on death or put it in a chest?

Edit: To accomplish this run TerrariaServer.exe from the Terraria folder to have a server you can log out of. Then log in to your server (for me it came up automatically as an option) via multiplayer-->join via IP. You need to have set up your firewall to allow access. Using "host and serve" attempts to set up a Windows firewall, so you may want to do that first.

Choose a different difficulty.

Easy-mode when you die you only drop some money and then respawn at base.

But you're just a normie then.

Yeah, fuck off with your Dark Souls masochism, I don't have time for that shit.

Quality of life difficulty level is the best difficulty level.

I actually like that death has some penalty. Having to go back to get my stuff is perfect. But a massive difference between same session and not is poor game design.

Either play the difficulty where you don't lose your stuff on death or don't it's your choice.

You remind me of all the retarded people in online games like Diablo or Path of Exile who chose the permadeath mode knowing they 100% will not be refunded their character no matter what and then still bitch and cry on the forum because they died due to 1/5th of a millisecond of lag.

either play the normal mode or keep playing retard masochist mode and suck it up.

Get off the computer and try real life out. You'll be thankful you leveled up your irl stats when you get older instead of useless video games.

The real world needs you, get in there.

Maybe in a red state, where I live everyone is a sheep, the power of choice and patronage is nonexistant as they are all imposing the bullshit

That's what they want you to think. Just as you exist others do too. Find them.

I believe the term is get good.

That game's great until you realize it's just a boss farming game.

Farm xp until you fight bosses?

[–] 0 pt

No xp in the game, you farm for gear to kill stronger bosses for better gear so you can kill stronger bosses for gear...

Spawn bosses to kill them for loot

Host a server and join on your own computer. I used to do it just to leave and rejoin for quick spawn ins.

So if it's on a server it won't delete dropped items?

Last time I played it, but that was freaking years ago.

Thanks! On the offhand chance that you know, I'm trying to host my own game. I've set up my firewall to allow the connection. When I try to connect to my server at 127.0.0.1, it won't work. (stuck at "connecting to 127.0.0.1/7777")What do I need to do?

Edit: I figured it out. "host and play" runs a server that closes every time the character logs out. You need to run TerrariaServer.exe from the Terraria folder to have a server you can log out of and it keeps running.

Edit: It worked!! I can't believe this wasn't on any of the pages I searched. Thank you!
