No offense, but I'm not sure how that makes things fairer. I think, um, fines are just stupid. Unless it's restitution for something you can actually make up for like littering. Otherwise it's just revenuing. If it's bad enough throw somebody in jail for a weekend or make them do community service.

There was a show called taboo on natgeo, just before all the education type channels turned to total shit. There was an episode about different types of prisons around the world. The American system is fucked, where some asshole gets rich of others suffering. And just turns people into "better" criminals.

I think I saw that. It was at least something similar where a guy goes around living in different prisons temporarily. The ones in Africa were the worst. I agree that the US situation is quite unproductive. I think relatively it depends, because most people live in the third world where prisons are pretty bad. People are more likely to compare the USA to the first world, such as Europe. But I think really the fair comparison would only be with China and Russia based on size. But not even because China and Russia are mostly single culture/race countries.

It doesn't make things fairer.

Was a thought i had. Thought it might be interesting to consider. Not actually try to make it happen.

Its more about the relative freedom someone has once they are financially secure..

Takes a little more writing to get the whole thought out than I want.. Not just speeding ticket, but everyday choices as a ticket, its a cost. Every mile you drive, $0.55 ticket. Not something the state did, that's a natural cost you can't escape (unless nigger, then you just steal it), gas, wear n tear, depreciating value, just something the state calculated, and decided to give you some credit for if you are set up for it, and tell them about all those miles...

Maybe not freedom for the richer people, but more choices or options available. Leads down an exponential path. Where more and better choices are available.
