Most responses in recent years there are chock full of people flaming the threads. Very few comments get removed when reported as well. I mean there are clearly people going into threads, changing the topic, whining, bitching, filling it with low-information comments.

Use the standalone version. The steam version updates files and leads to abnormal results if you have a lot of mods and erases any adjustments you make to those mods to make them jive right.
