Have you guys played this? I tend to avoid early access due to getting burned by a few titles (7 Days to Die has been in early access for at least 8 years now).

Anyway, think this Viking game might be worth getting early? I like how it’s a bit like Conan Exiles, Minecraft, and Skyrim wrapped into one.

The game is amazing.

It has everything you could ask for in an old world setting. The detail, and physics allow you to do so many things; stealth hunting, dungeon crawling, sailing simple rafts-viking raiding boats, and building everything from simple survival shelters all the way to detailed fortified bases. There are also world events that randomly launch attacks on you, and your base(s).

It's so frigging detailed in every aspect. Even the overall storytelling with Odin's ravens guiding you along is bad ass. I can't even imagine how much more there is to discover. I haven't played a game like this in years.

This is just one example of how far this game goes even just in early access stage.

I’m thinking I’ll definitely pick it up, but I might want to wait for a few more patches. Apparently dying causes you to lose skill level progress, and I unfortunately no longer have the opportunity to grind in games like I used to.

If they ever add a feature to toggle consequences for death, like dropping items, losing skill progress, etc. I’ll definitely pick it up. If not, I might have to wait for mods.

My damn backlog is full of great games, and this is still one I’m considering moving to the front if it gets even better in the coming months.

Deaths are easily avoidable if you understand that you can engage and disengage combat targets with a bit of pre-planning your fight(s).

There are also multiple ways to kill mobs that don't even require you putting yourself at risk. You can construct pitfall traps and use the game physics to kill Trolls with no risk. Luring and leading huge trolls (that can 1 shot kill you) into a series of log traps you construct for example.

You can even bow kite difficult targets and simply avoid damage that way as well.

Now that’s what I’m talking about. I did similar tactics in Outward where, if I didn’t feel confident about my chances with an enemy, I’d place traps beforehand and completely destroy all that tried to touch me.

I've been playing it. I normally avoid early access also. But i was waiting on this one for a long time.

Its been pretty fun. Yes like lots of other survival games. with half decent combat and a good base building.

I’ve seen that you can apparently kill enemies via proxy by using trees.

Shit reminds me of Breath of the Wild. Maybe I’ll get it after all.

you can kill yourself with those same trees when they fall the wrong way :D

How many autisms do I need to have to enjoy this?

It's yet another punch rocks and trees survival game for Twitch/Youtube streamers to play with their friends.

Yeah, hence the hesitation. I like the idea of leveling up in every little thing you do, but there’s not much else that seems appealing here.

Yet, here we are: it’s popular for some reason.

Its only 20$ but if you don't want to spend that, download it from pirate bay. And if you like it, you'll probably love it enough to buy it so you can play online with friends.

i already know whats going to happen its the same fate for every game like this, it gets reconzise and then something bad happens and people will hate it, indie developer gives up or never hear from them. this needs to stop.

It sold a million copies and is legit the best game I've played in the last 6 years. Started a dedicated server with my brother and friends and we have never been so active with each other in a game. Its not going anywhere

thats the same thing like other games, they get so many people and then die out later.
