Given everything that's going on I have no doubts GameStop will go the route of BlockBuster.

It is interesting seeing the internet pull together and try to "stick it to the man".

There is very little doubt in my mind that any negative the stock brokers fall into that they won't receive some sort of bail out.

Only if GameStop refuses to buy a network distribution system like Nokia blackberry or AOL time Warner. If GME is smart they will buy out one of these companies and become a gaming distribution powerhouse. Further they could take a page out of Apples book and leverage their retail space to sell their own product. Why does nobody ever compare Apple Stores to blockbuster?

GameStop never had the overhead to be able to do something like this. The most GS was able to buy out was other low income game retail store Funcoland (maybe other small shops but I'm too lazy to research that).

I don't know many people that bought the Blockbuster computers back in the day. Did Blockbust come out with line of media players and cellphones?

Apple Has a very secure market in phones and computers. Regardless of how much they suck compared to everything else they still have the fan base.

GameStop has next to zero fan base. Anyone who shopped there is willing to buy from anyother chain store/Amazon.

Now, they do have enough capital to buy out one of those companies, including one that could design build GameStop computer/game consol/ whatever. So it makes more sense to compare this new GameStop to Apple, than to blockbuster.
