Oh man, those were hard, Arcade's revenge? Lordamercy.
I was totally against buying anything Marvel, but it was Christmas and I bought my youngest a PS4 pro and the spiderman game, which obviously means I opened both and played through all of spiderman before I had to box it up and wrap. Was honestly surprised at the quality of the game. Then I seen that it was made by the same people that did Ratchet and Clank (another gem, even if children were the target audience, still a well made game) so I figured it can't be that bad. I was right. The web slinging through town is very satisfying. The combat is well thought out; it allows you to choose how stealthy or not stealthy you approach each situation. The gadgets are cool and useful. The voice acting is A+. It's just a flat out good game. If you are planning to pick it up buy the newer Miles Morales one because it actually comes with the original spiderman that I'm talking about, so you'd technically get 2 games.
Arcades revenge, yes. THat game was haaaard! i remember thinking how cool it was that you actually got to use each superhero's powers special tailored levels. Still too hard, and I recall glitches galore. I don't think me or my older brother could even beat it with cheats.
There was a spiderman game with a kingpin and it gave you a camera to take pics in the game. I may or may not have beaten that game.
I think there was another xmen game that played quite differently and another spiderman game. Pretty good for the most part.
Awe man, speaking of old games, there was a game called master of monsters for sega genesis that I loved. I was just a kid, but I'm pretty sure some of the levels were either impossible or required perfect optimization right away.
Yea Maximum Carnage, Separation Anxiety, etc. Those truly were the best 2D side scrolling beat em ups.
I never got close to beating Arcade's revenge either, not even close, I think I was able to clear one xman lvl but the rest were effing impossible. There was a Wolverine game too that I remember. I'd get to the Cyber fight and that was about all I remember. Cyber's poison would make the screen go all psychedelic trippy, which was a pretty clever effect for the time
good stuff. i just finished a flash game binge n im going to fire up the emulators soon
Master of Monsters...holy crap, haven't thought about that for years. I mastered that one. It had a crazy glitch, when the items dropped in the towers, it would always be the same turn.
master of monsters is a turn based strategy in a board game format with hexagons as the movement spaces on the board where you battle monsters and evolve them. are we talking about the same game? it's been a while since i played but i dont recall that specifically.
hmmmm... i'm vaguely recalling something about towers... maybe some locs surrounding it for defense (ok i'm making up the locs because it would be cool to imagine them swooping down from the towers of a giant castle to protect it)? omg, i've been meaning to play this game again for years. i really have to start again.
