(warning - Jewtube link).

This being said, Adobe finally ending support for that dumpsterfire is actually great. It had more vulnerabilities than a Chinese social app. Complete pile of garbage, and was certainly the reason for countless malware infections.

They could have at least released new software to run them safely with new features.

flash games are not dead, and you can still play them with a stand alone player, and there are many huge archives of flash games out there and they're all free.

WHEN A COMPANY ENDS SUPPORT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE PRODUCT IS DEAD, IT MEANS THEY STOPPED SUPPORTING IT I.E. THEY WON'T CONTINUE TO UPDATE IT. IT STILL WORKS

However in the case of Adobe Flashplayer they are trying to capitalize on folk wisdom misinformation that dropping support means the product is dead by artificially shutting it down with a programmed-in kill switch that checks the date and if it's past a certain date the software chooses not to work. It still will work.

Flash is not dead, and Adobe has been paid to make-believe that it is; capitalizing on the folk wisdom that corps tell the truth and "dropped support = dead". They're trying to sell y'all filthy mobile games and HTML5 DRM'd trash that you can never own, and get people hooked on gambling and other non-substance addictions.

Honestly why even have the internet any more? About all it can do right these days is crank out shit, memes, and mostly useless educational material. That really worth prison planet?

Despite the song The Internet Is For Porn it cant even do porn right any more. The powers that be want you to abandon all privacy just to upload it because fuck that human right. Then they censor like crazy "for the women and children" because heaven forbid mastercard and visa mind their own fucking business. Nope. Instead you get to wake up and find out that a monopoly site can and will suddenly nuke millions of irreplaceable things because someone took issue with less than 00.1% of what is on a site.

There aren't even good memes anymore, just the same old templates rehashed over and over. Everything is basically Boomer-tier now. It sucks.

A kindred soul methinks. How I long for the days of old when sites sought beauty instead of minimalism, ad infestations, and setups to prevent archiving and saving as much as possible. Once we had liberty in abundance. I knew dark days were ahead when account walls became a thing. Age and geo walls are the very opposite of what a good internet stands for.

While ultimately a small thing compared to all that the internet has lost and become I lament that the world might never again see the unexpected surprise of a mouse trail that forms bubbles while accompanied with piano music from a random site that put it there to entertain those who arrived for a different reason.

I remember even a couple years memes came and went way faster than I could keep track, and thus I felt like a Boomer. Now its all the same shit over and over, I'm starting to think Fukuyama was right about the end of history.
