Gog has their galaxy launcher, so no. How do i avoid using that? I see people have extracted the games and they're playable without the launcher

The launcher is entirely unneeded, it is a text messaging, patches, and multiplayer hookup thing, but you can just download the games without ever touching Galaxy.
GoG has Galaxy, if you want it, but it is ugly and unneeded.
