No, they're novelty items as opposed to useful toys. Someone thought they were a Good Idea.
For 20 bucks they would make fun gift for colleagues imo
$65 is over the top, but that's not even the main problem. PS1 games are supposed to be "playable" on those.... Good luck playing siphon filter on such a small res, good luck reading anything... It's not even ideal for most 16 bit systems at 1:1 scale, let alone neogeo, mame...
>The 1.54″ IPS display runs at 240×240, so it is a perfect square. The GBAs 240×160 resolution should look great on this LCD, with small black borders across the top and bottom. It’ll be interesting to see how other machines with a native resolution greater than 240px look on this display.

>When the Genesis was released in 1988, very few arcade boards at the time was able to produce the same video resolution (320x224). There are a lot of systems with a much better hardware but using a lower resolution, like Namco System 2 (288x224), Konami TMNT2 Based hardware (288x244) or Neogeo (304x224). The same could be said about the home consoles (SNES = 256x224).

So basically, the hardware isn't even fit for what it's supposed to be fit for
It's like mounting a .50 caliber machine gun on a moped, I would say it's not a great idea, it's unbalanced

Now maybe it passes IRL, idk
After all if the moped is parked maybe it turns out to be a not so bad tripod for the .50
I've seen some of this stuff in the shops near here. Big Lots had some cool little handhelds that contained a few arcade games, but the price was near $40 - that's simply not worth it.
The hardware itself is usually driven by what's cheaply available, especially for this type of device. They're not going to make a bespoke LCD panel, they're going to use whatever they can get and hope you don't notice.
