I never bothered with the outpost when it first came out and made its rounds through accounting and marketing. Now i know i didn't miss much. I am more of a doom and civilization guy. Frost punk was fun for a bit, surviving mars was fun for an hour.

Closest balance between my two favorite game types was command and conquer renegade. Yea, the rts series it came from was more popular, but you could walk into each building and explore! the only thing it was missing was a commander slot to build new buildings instead of having a static "map" to fight over and slowly destroy everything.

That being said, i'm surprised this guy didn't bring up eve online, the self described spreadsheet simulator.
