I dont get what the benefit of getting this instead of just getting a Sega Genesis is. Is it because Genesis are hard to find these days? Are the graphics better on this? Idgi.. My old roommate had an original xbox that had hundreds of Nintendo, SNES, and Sega games on it. That thing was awesome, and it had every sega game that I had ever played on it. So I dont see the benefit in being able to play actual cartridges. If I was limited to the games I actually had cartridges for, it would have been barely any. Can someone please explain a little?

This has modern video outputs and is less likely to burn out components than the original. Your average emulator has very bad color and emulation accuracy, whereas this is engendered to be as accurate as possible.

Emulators are simple, and original consoles are more accurate. So this is definitely a niche product for those who want an accurate modern alternative.

Ok. That makes sense. Thank you.
