My Index headset arrived Friday. The Half-Life Alyx preview content is an amazing environment. Sure it looked cool on YouTube videos, but when I was actually immersed into it, it is a whole new level.

"The Lab" which is pretty much a fun lobby area that lets you access mini-games is a total blast too. The space ship and bow games are so much fun.

I tried Pavlov and seems like it would be fun, but I ended up getting a refund. I could not play it without terrible motion sickness. I'm afraid I might have that problem with games that have you walk vs teleport.

One downside with the Index is the controllers are not wireless. I did not realize this when I bought it. It is still playable of course, but it would be much better if you didn't have to worry about the wires. The headset, which I knew going in was wired, is not an issue. I don't notice that wire at all.

That does look cool. Although I'm a bit worried I might have the same motion sickness problem with that game. I'll have to look into Dead Effect 2. I'm not familiar with that title.

I'm probably not going to buy many games right now. Since I have Alyx to look forward to. I figure a lot of VR titles will go on sale once Alyx is live.

It does look like a vomit inducing game but it's pretty wild that a game can cause the same mental and physical effects felt from real life experiences. Vertigo from heights is a great example.

Super Hot VR is rather well done too. It's pretty casual and a good game to demo vr to other people.

Super Hot looks like it might be a better format for me. That was one I was thinking of getting.
