I've been kicking around getting a VR headset recently, but more for 3D sculpting and design than gaming. Have you had experience with other VR headsets, out of curiosity? I've had my eye on the Odyssey+ or the HP one for a little while now, but have previously tried the commercial Oculus headset and the PSVR hacked to run with TrinusVR. Both had a ton of screen door effect for me and I haven't tried again in the past couple of years.

I have not tried another system. I've been on the sidelines as the reviews and quality/customer service of existing sets didn't give me much confidence. So I decided to wait until the 2nd generation of headsets came out. The Index fits that bill for me. Almost all of the reviews have been good.

I'm not happy about how much they want for it, but I rarely treat myself to purchases, so heck with it. I just decided to do it.

Mine too. I had a Rift CV1 (decent toy) and a Rift S (affordable quality), but the index is the current pinnacle. Cant wait.

I really hope they ship in two weeks like the valve says. Would be nice if they shipped a bit earlier, then it might actually arrive in time for the Half-Life Alyx release.
