I heard a story of a liberal college professor from American that came to Croatia on some exchange program for a few months and he nearly had a mental breakdown over "I can believe this country is full or real Nazis!".

Depends. If you want to live in the fancy, busy, touristy mediterranean coastal region, prepare for Europe level property prices.

If you want to live in alpine region, property is significantly more affordable. You could get a decent 2-3 bed house with good amount of land for around 150,000€ (~155,000$).

Economy wise, if you're not planning to bring your business or have a fancy degree that will get you good wage, you are fucked. Prices are about the same like Western Europe, but average (real) wage is 700€/month.

what are the authorities like? how would a national socialist be treated in the average business district? not that i plan on being theatrical or anything, but having to tip toe around the tulips where i am is getting old.

It's been more than a decade sine I left, but Nationalism is on the rise and Skinheads returned, zoomers did a full revival, and majority of people favor Nationalism. When it comes to NatSoc, people are more focused on our Independent State of Croatia which was a Monarchy, but people like Hitler as well since he was our ally.

During Covid, police collectively said Health Ministry to fuck off and that it's not their job to deal with healthcare issues. That was the end of lockdowns and mask mandates.

sounds like a decent place. as of right now i believe that i should stay here and fight, but at some point, this place might be beyond saving, and i'll need to look for a new home. i dont ask for much, just to be able to care about my race out in the open, and raise my children as i see fit.
