True, I didn't really think about it like that since it is often these women would love to get married off to a white westerner.

It's marketed that way to Westerners, but typically it actually operates like this:

1) They're offered jobs in nearby south-east Asian countries. Their families are ecstatic over the possibility of their daughter bringing in money "for the family" because Asian culture is wretched and regards female children as somewhere between parasites and Cinderella workhorses.

2) After moving to the new country, they discover that the job was a scam and is actually something in the sex trade. If they go back home, their families will either blame the daughter for being gullible and not making money "for the family" or disown her for being associated with the sex trade (even if she noped out immediately).

3) Any women who go along with the sex trade job are frequently trafficked, either in the region or out of the region due to their now non-existent marriage potential and negligible employability.

4) Western sex tourists think these women are gung ho to marry "muy wealthy white man" when it's really gung ho to be a mistress for one guy instead of blowing a dozen guys a night in an alleyway. Not because they love the idea, but because it's relatively less horrible.

You might ask why they dont go to the police, buuuut degenerate Asian culture has such a low regard for any women associated with sex work (including women coerced into human trafficking) that the police are more likely to arrest the victimized woman than her traffickers.

They’ve been groomed and brainwashed to believe they’d get a better life and all the westerners are billionaires.

I'd say life is objectively better in the West. Will that make them happier women, I can't say.

It’s all relative. People in the west are more materialistic. I’ve been to lots of place in Asia where people had a much simpler and traditional life, and they looked way happier than the average Joe who lives in big cities.

I disagree.

I spent a lot of time in Taiwan years ago. Basically everything -- from going to the doctor, public transportation, hotel service, buildings and infrastructure -- was way better than anything I'd seen in the states. Of course, I was there basically as a foreign tourist so naturally it would be different if I grew up and lived there my whole life. Wages are relatively shit for the locals.

Trying to think what else. Wild dogs roam around in packs. I could take local money out at the ATM with no fees from my US bank account. No blacks.

It felt more like prison landing at JFK, just how, well, Orwellian everything felt, seeing how run down NYC is in comparison, seeing blacks and fatassess again.

Your Taiwan/South Korea/Hong Kong/Singapore probably offers a westerner better standard of living. Vietnam, probably not so much.
