I liked it when ,as a new guy, I would be sent in search for some non-existent item, especially while in the military (Marines). I would just go and goof off. I would go to the PX and read magazines and look around or go to the base library or something.

I was in the USMC and did the same thing. I was sent to get 100 yards of flight line. After two days, they told me to quit looking. I just went and goofed off for two days.

Yeah, I was prepared if someone jumped my shit for being in the PX or library in the middle of the day, to tell them exactly what I was looking for in those books and magazines.

🤣 crap! Our trick didn't work where has he been!!

Yeah, it was a little harder when we were in the field. I learned to keep a book handy. I would just go out in the woods and read or take a nap.

I like the way you think.

Did the same with other dudes voluntold to do something.

I'm still looking for a sky hook. Anyone know what they look like?

Posting on the internet takes zero energy. And if it did, you just wasted yours worrying about mine...

Reminds me of my boss when I used to work construction. Any time we got a new rookie, he would tell them to go ask the electrician if we can borrow their wire stretcher.
