Ketchup has too much tang (vinegar, worchestershire sauce, or lactic acid from fermentation) to fit.
And American ketchup has way too much fucking sugar. A tablespoon of ketchup is 5 carbs and 4 grams of added sugar. A serving of tomato soup is 16 times larger and has the same amount of sugar.
That too. My wife used to make her own ketchup. That stuff was really good. Very savory with just a hint of natural sweetness, as ketchup should be.
I only make my own ketchup. And they go great with homemade fries in the air fryer.
I can't even eat goychup anymore. Tastes like high fructose corn shit.
What did your wife use as a sweetener? I like using honey. And red wine vinegar is my favorite vinegar to use so far.
