Maybe, but what is for sure is that you can't ban things where a demand exists. (Booze, drugs, shooting a PM in a country with the most strict gunlaws)

Maybe instead of banning Pron we should make degeneracy less appealing and destroy the structures pushing it.

"you can't ban things where a demand exists"

You absolutely can ban things where a demand exists. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years, and still do. Murder is banned in this country, for example. And yet, the demand is quite high in some cities regardless. Same for drugs, etc.

If you mean to say that banning something doesn't put an end to it 100%, then yeah I agree with that because there's always a black market.

But honestly, banning internet porn wouldn't be such a bad move I don't think...at least from a moral standpoint. From a "freedom" standpoint, I would argue the opposite, however.

In any case, I'll put it this way. For a young kid to get ahold of porn right now is far too easy. All they have to do is fire up the phone or computer and there are 10's of thousands of hours of FREE porn. That's an objectively bad thing, there's no way around it.

At least when I was a kid, it wasn't easy to get. Some kid would have to snipe a magazine or video from him dad or older brother. The stores wouldn't sell it to you if you weren't old enough. That is a vastly different world than the one we're in now where any kid can just type in the right combination of letters and numbers and voila!

I am also keenly aware that banning things creates a black market where there is no oversight from a legal perspective... which in the case of say, marijuana, empowers gangsters and cartels..

But sexual exploitation and trafficking is happening anyway precisely to feed the porn demand, even though there is "legal oversight" of that industry. That's happening right now anyway.

So I'm not sure I buy the argument that it will "make it worse" to ban it. Bad shit can and will happen regardless of what we ban, that's true. But just because evil exists doesn't mean you turn a blind eye to it, either.

Maybe we should start soft in that case.

All those "bikin bath tube loopholes" and only fans bullshit are a new level.

Cranking down on that would be an easy, doable and doing society a favour by eliminating simping and easy cashflow to ideologically brainwashed "feminists" who believe whoring out is empowering. (less simping more dating/family?)

This way there is less porn, without cutting into "freedom" and without driving it too deep underground.

As for kids, parents, especially today need to know wtf their kids are doing, my folks were up my ass till I was around 17ish. (And yes even back then you had to work to get pron even if it was firing up torrent)
