I can still vividly (mentally) see those restroom doors in the laundromat in my small southern hometown, about 1963, one door marked plainly "white" and the other plainly "colored."
They remained that way for years and I meant to snatch those doors before they were removed and I never did. Nobody had a problem with that arrangement until them damn yankees began stirring up trouble.
That same small town is known for its KKK rallies, still have them today, supervised by Texas DPS. But that town is no match for the notoriety (for 'white supremacists' and their demonstrations) of good old Vidor, TX. Just google "Vidor TX and the KKK."
