I'll say this. My late brother lived on a thousand dollars/month social security and a wopping twenty dollars/month food stamps. He lived on bread and ended up losing his house because he couldn't pay his property taxes of 8k/year in a nigger infested neighborhood.
The single most impoverished demographic in the U.S is middle and working class senior citizens.
Guess who gets social security and in-kind aid? Alcoholics and drug addicts living on the streets.
Nothing is free. you pay for it in one way or another. If you don't want to pay into social security then don't- figure out a way to be exempt. then good luck in your dotage.

He was in his 70's and poor as a church mouse, how could he afford to move? Seniors that have only their social security as income pay bills and starve, or eat and lose to the guverment.
It's easy to say what he should have done when you're in your 40's and have a good income stream.
I've learned a couple hard lessons from seeing what happened to my brother and something else- the consequences of not having family: being ill and dying alone.
