Social Security (The stuff old people get) is payed into by taxes as they lived and worked.

That's false. What you receive is based on your 35 highest earning years. You will never get what "you put in" because it has already been sent to someone else. SS is doomed to fail because it requires constant population/worker growth and constant "deposits". If what you said was true, it wouldn't be a big deal that less people are "paying into" the system.

I understand I just didn't want to delve into all the nuances. I should have said "at max", but whatever. The point being SS isn't "welfare" that's from other people. It's savings from yourself.

It's savings from yourself.

That's what it is pitched as, but it isn't that. When initiated, people were only living a few years while getting it. Now, people are living decades longer (yea medicare) and exhausting their "savings" and are receiving someone else's "savings" to keep the lie going while the guy in the first frame of the comic claims it's "his" money that he paid into the system when reality is, he's received all of his already.

No. So you think people on average died a 67-70 years old when social security was properly used? Sigh. Lower average mortality rates over history had to do with infant mortality. Not people who reached adulthood.

Sure life has gotten longer, but not by significantly much.

Or a massive die off of people who never get a cent back after death. I suspect there will be a plethora of folks still collecting benefits post death... I wonder who it is that is cashing those checks. Audit every fucking agency down to the last penny. Follow that money trail to the end... much like a certain tribe does with supposed nazis.... and persecute, oops, I meant prosecute those folks.

Ok then explain police, fire and government pensions

Same game but with the bonus that taxes are used to cover the shortcomings.
