That's false. What you receive is based on your 35 highest earning years. You will never get what "you put in" because it has already been sent to someone else. SS is doomed to fail because it requires constant population/worker growth and constant "deposits". If what you said was true, it wouldn't be a big deal that less people are "paying into" the system.

They actually claimed that SS was saving? Well they may have saved a bit when there were so few people over 65 vs many of working age.
