Yep. He pens music for the masses designed for films for the masses. Predictable. Lowest common denominator. Nothing too challenging. Did he have some hits early on? Sure. Do hits always equate to good? It's the rare specimen that does not criss-cross applesauce themselves across the formulaic Rubicon of repeat and cliche. And glomming Zimmer and Djawadi or any other composer onto the conversation might not be the best stratagem to bolster your argument. All composers of note develop a distinct voice. Williams just happens to evoke a yawn and an eyeroll.
