But the thing is, the gov't backed those loans. Those banks didnt get screwed. They get their money from the government, government has all the time in the world to steal it from you. At least that's how I understand the scheme.
I think the various banks got the government to take on the loans. I just want the whole loan scheme to stop. If some institution is willing to loan money to someone for schooling, it's their problem if they get stiffed. They would be more careful to loan money if they knew bad loans were their problem. Plus the school loan deal just ended up driving the cost of schooling up.
Plus I like the idea of debt jubilees. Debt just cripples society and the wealthy just end up owning everything.
Yeah, I hear you. The thing that would piss me off if they forgive the loan, is what about the responsible people that actually paid it off? Do they get a refund? Why do the useless retards get off without paying? At least that is my thought on it.
I understand the frustration regarding what do the responsible people get. I paid off my loans in the past and wouldn't benefit from a debt jubilee at all. But our Father in heaven watches what we do so I'll go with virtue is its own reward.

Yes, the government guarantees schlomo gets paid. Which could be a summary of our government/financial system in general.
