There are other good MMA promotions out there to watch between UFC cards. Belator is not bad.
Yea I watch bellator too. Pfl sometimes bkfc all the bigger fights on the smaller promotions
I don't like the bareknuckle fights. We've seen a few deaths out of them already, haven't we?
And it's not simply because the guys were ungloved. Hell, I could probably hit you way harder with my hand wrapped and a 4 ounce glove on- because it would stabilize my wrist and reduce the chance of me breaking my hand.
Ever watch "Street Beefs"? They post fights every day on YouTube. Kind of fun to watch, and you will learn a lot- it shows how untrained people will fight. Sometimes they have two completely untrained, out-of-shape guys fight each other, and it looks like a sloppy mess. Sometimes they'll have some moderately trained fighters go in there and put on a banger of a show. And most rare, they'll have two well-trained combatants go to fucking town in their little ring/backyard.
Street Beefs is actually a good place to go and test your skills, if you happen to live near where they hold their "events". It's kind of cool to watch some kid who has never fought, barely trained, go in and get the shit kicked out of him... but then he comes back for another fight. Loses again. Comes back for a third one- this time, he's looking sharper, more composed. Eventually, they step into that ring with real confidence and some skill developed with real experience.
The story behind Street Beefs is kind of cool, too- it began as a means of getting thugs to settle disputes without shooting each other. The "owner" of the organization, "Scarface", was a real shithead growing up. Cleaned his life up after he got out of prison, and lost a brother or something to gang violence- and so he came up with this idea. They watch social media for fighting words. Then they contact the two guys/girls who are talking shit and making threats, and say "Hey, let's put this to bed- you two come to our backyard, neutral territory, and we'll make sure you two have a fair fight, then you shake hands and move on like men." Remarkably, it seems to have been quite effective.
There are no stories about thugs who fought in Street Beefs going on to murder each other, as far as I know. It really does seem like these "beef fights" solve the conflicts. These two men, fighting over a woman or w/e, look each other in the face and beat the piss out of each other for like 20 minutes. That's a bonding experience. You will learn more about a man in 5 minutes of fighting than you will in 5 days of talking. You will develop a respect for your opponent, whether you win or lose terribly. This is why we should have dueling/mutual combat laws in every state.
Yea I watch street beefs sometimes
I don’t really like watching street beefs. I don’t know why. I just don’t.
