People who enjoy conspiracy theories naturally are curious and probably enjoy the blow back so thier ideas can get both expressed, challenged, and improved. The idea is to get as close to a sound theory and a truth as possible. Npcs just blindly accept mainstream narrative as gospel, no discussion or challenge to thier idea of truth.

Even stupid theories are fun to explore because you know it's ridiculous but some people can throw together interesting arguments that take some effort and thought to shoot down.
