I would agree if 'A' were merely ~ double the thickness of 'B' and not the significant increase in circumference.

A lot of the 25 lbs plates I've seen are mostly the same thickness as a 10, they just have a wider rim for ease of handling in addition to the larger diameter. If anything, I would say the smaller weights are lighter, 5 and 2.5lbs, as opposed to the bigger plate being heavier like a 45.

Also, I've known women who could bench 165+ weights. They considered themselves powerlifters and took their training pretty seriously. They were also on the "thicker" side, as opposed to a skinny, skanky roastie.
