They're acting like it will be temporary. But the longer it goes on, the more entrenched they'll become; establishing administrations, recruiting additional personnel, etc. Expanding to fill the role vacated by the private sector, the institutions will become dependent on the dollars provided by the government, and those dollars will far exceed those collected from the crippled-by-design, heavily-regulated insurance regime.
