I have never met a black american that actually enjoys spicy food. Their real problem is they think prison and school food is 'wypipo food'... b/c that's who they get it from. Your meme is liberal propaganda. The truth to the origin of this meme lies in head cheese. They would feed the slaves parts of the pig they didn't want to eat such as brains etc to slaves. You can still buy headcheese in the south to this day. The food wasn't rotten and slaves were an investment they had a fiscal interest in keeping healthy.
That is what I always said when people would make claims about mutilating and killing of slaves. You don't kill and maim the people that you depend on to do the work for you. You don't starve them either. If they aren't healthy and able to do the work you lose money.
Two things about this from someone that spent a number of years in the foodservice industry:
Black people always ask for hot sauce. I don’t know where you got the idea they don’t like spicy food
While it’s a common misconception, head cheese is not brain, it’s ground-up facial muscles, like from the jaw, cheek, forehead, etc
Commercial hot sauce is not spicy food for the most part. Texas Pete and shit like that isn't actually very spicy at all.
vinegar and cayanne pepper is about all it is
I mean, sure there are spicier things, but they definitely make food spicier and there are definitely people that can’t handle them. And most black people are not those people
Researchers know they planted watermelons so they had water as they worked, yes they gave them parts and organs they themselves (mostly Jews owned slaves) couldn't eat..and they fed them well to get labor from them. Hocks, jowls, tails, etc. Black pepper was worth its weight in gold in medieval times because they had no fridges, and meat went bad fast. They used pepper to cover that. It is easy to see who thinks here, and who parrot-posts.
My grandmother ate head cheese as a child, mostly because she and her grandmother were very poor (she was abandoned by both her parents). The butcher would give them odds and ends that didn't sell. She really reminisced over bread and butter sandwiches.
