And if something happens to disrupt supply chains.. Like war with China.... It can't be fixed.
That's true of any foreign car.
Not my Chevy truck made in Mexico
So your argument is that you think paying 3X as much for every mile you drive and being dependent on one single fuel source is more resilient to SHTF than owning both types of vehicle? If I drove the Silverado to work it would cost about $375 a month for gas. $40,000+ over the last 9 years of owning an electric car that I purchased for $20,000. I'm ahead $20,000 and have two vehicles for my trouble. Between them I can run on gas, coal, nuclear, solar, wind, hydro, propane, and Diesel.
I have a diesel truck.
I can literally GROW and harvest my diesel fuel on my farm in Alabama that I own.
Not that I need to I'm not poor.
Tesla is just a ripoff for people who don't know anything about mechanical engineering.
Oh yeah... Let me know how ahead you are financially when you need to put your electric car in the shop and have it repaired.
Something I never have to do ever with my truck.
I can even do my own tires.
