Agreed. With every nuclear accident to date, nuclear is safer and requires less land and lower cost (most of which is artificial) than everything else.

Look up mining accidents. Where do these people think the raw material for solar panels and gigantic windmills come from? Not only does the mining destroy the land where the mining happens (which requires previously mined materials to produce the equipment to do larger scale mining), but these solar panel and windmill farms destroy the land where they are installed, requiring clearcutting of areas larger than a nuclear plant would require. And that doesn't get into the upkeep and maintenance! Do they know how often solar panels and windmills need to be repaired? Because by design they must be out in the open, subject to the forces of nature. So they constantly need repaired or even replaced. And do they know where those damaged components go? Because there's basically no way to recycle them that doesn't take more resources than producing a brand new one from scratch, which requires further mining!

The only alternative I guess could work in a very specifically acceptable location would be upright turbine windmills.

And even then, what do they suppose will power the electric grid when it's cloudy or not windy?

Al Gore bought tremendous amounts of interest in Green Mountain Energy before he made An Inconvenient Truth.
