I think it's because this is Poal where people can downvote bomb your history. But when you do it once, its the same week Poal decides to selectively punish that behavior. It seems to not be the issue it used to be back on Voat, but it would have been nice to get the memo before it sent me -100 points and tagging my username permanently.
I’m not sure of your exact situation, downvoating, brigading, and multi-alts will bring the pain. I came from Voat as well, after settling in Poal is like staying at the Holiday Inn after getting bedbugs at Motel 8.
Voat/Poal is okay. I wish there were more sites like it. I don't expect much, especially living through the rise and fall of Reddit and Rogan Board. I like closed sites like this that are small and stay off the lips of normies and NPCs but big enough that you can have a constructive social/community experience. 4Chan's only flaw at this point is they are way too well known and at this point highly regulated for multiple purposes that run in parallel.
I would love to see the internet go back to the old days where everyone online had 5,10,20 independent sites and chatrooms they frequented. The consolidation of the internet is becoming offensive to me at this point.

I started to notice a long time ago; Godsangell ( high in the running for shittiest person on Poal until she left thank god) would downgoat people every day,some times 11 times in a row. Nothing ever happened. I guarantee if I downgoated someone 4x in a row; bam. Some people can just get away with it. Others not so much.
I'm an idiot for having believed it for so long.
