Are you seriously going to say the engine in a car is more efficient than an oil power plant?
Yes I am.
Your focus on lithium is strange.
Probably because the Lithium-ion form it's in can burn and release lots of that nasty shit in the air, and Teslas have been known to catch fire after even the most minor accidents. And burning anything releases carbon monoxide, but we use catalytic converters to prevent that.
I'll say it again, electric cars are false ecology and false economy in their current form. Only idiots think that Teslas are cool.
Car engine is about 25-30% efficient, average. Oil power plant is about 35-40%, again, average. Plus in a plant you have the possibility of using the waste heat to generate electricity.
And when any gas powered car catches fire they don't release toxic chemicals into the air?
Hey, I'm not saying electric cars aren't polluting, they are. Much more than advertised. But less than gas powered cars. And they will improve over time. And just so you know, my next car will probably be a gas powered one, so I'm not trying to say everyone should rush out and buy electric or it's the greatest technology or anything like that.
