Remove government from both. That includes heavy regulations on ICE and direct funding on solar, wind, evs. Petroleum will be cheaper.
Also, we have seen from the previous admin that gasoline can be cheaper.
You wouldn't say that if you knew anything about oil subsidies. Plus the fact that they have been receiving them for almost a century to ensure the infrastructure was even possible to build. It does not makes sense to drill oil, ship it around the world, refine it, then ship it around the world again. The cost without a century of subsidies would be like $1000/gal. There is a reason why gas is cheaper then milk, and water in some cases.
Most of these subsidies are tax breaks, taxes overall should be reduced anyway. What is that exact amount of subsidy? I doubt it would make gas $1000/gal.
