San Clemente to Santa Monica or Pasadena is plenty long. An EV would not be suitable for such a commute. It's more than 64 miles, I promise. Your distance assumption is generous because you seemingly have no idea how big California or LA is.

unless you're running the A/C,

And the lights and the radio... So...you want me to commute in my expensive EV while not having the AC on in California? Guess I'm screwed if I also want to drive to Vegas on a Friday afternoon.

Most of the cool things to do in California cannot be accessed via an EV. Sorry. Gas powered is the way to go. Only passes are into EV, literally a lay, studies show that men, even after owning an EV, still prefer gasoline powered vehicles.

Born and raised with an 80-mile commute, dude. Which can be done with an EV for three days between charging.

And the lights and the radio... So...you want me to commute in my expensive EV while not having the AC on in California?

Your lights and radio will consume 0.2% of your charge for every hour of driving. Your A/C will consume about 1.5% per hour. So, even on an 80-mile commute which is two hours in traffic, the lights, radio, and A/C use up 3.4% of your charge.

Guess I'm screwed if I also want to drive to Vegas on a Friday afternoon.

Why? Easily doable. It might take about 40 minutes longer than using your gas car because you'll need to stop somewhere around Barstow to quick charge. You can stop at the Pit Stop Bar and Grill for a quick dinner while you fast charge for the rest of the trip to Vegas.

Most of the cool things to do in California cannot be accessed via an EV.

That is factually incorrect.

Only passes are into EV, literally a lay, studies show that men, even after owning an EV, still prefer gasoline powered vehicles.

If you think choosing a fuel type for your vehicle makes you more or less of a man, it's pretty much guaranteed that you aren't.

There's no difference in surveillance between gas and electric vehicles.
