I'm surprised the ref didn't start the 10 count for him being out of the ring. It's the job of officials to uphold the rules. What sort of credibility will amateur wrestling have if they just pick and choose what rules to follow?

And what the fuck was the plan here? Where is the person that was supposed to put out the fire? Everyone was just staring at the fire. If I am about to be lit on fire stop drop and roll will be on my mind and I'd probably request someone on stand-by with a fire extinguisher and a blanket. Maybe the guy was running to his car for a gallon of water. What a shot show.

My cousin's husband was an amateur wrestler. Her schizophrenic brother rushed the ring to get in the refs face. Fat Samoan bouncer couldn't get in the ring. Tried to get in to get him outta there. Fat Samoan bouncer comes for me, and I'm like, what? Get him!

Yes. Far more entertaining than WWE. You are close enough with smaller crowds that when you heckle the wrestlers, they hear you and you know it. Older people, out of shape people, generally people who will never make it wrestling, but still abusing themselves for your entertainment which dirt cheap admission prices.

I really enjoyed seeing a fan go right up to the ring, smack the ground beside a wrestler in his 50s (who was just gassed and had nothing left in him, hunched over the ropes trying to catch his breath) and yell at the wrestler "Come on, work for your dollar". The wrestler just kind of looked at him, and came back with "A dollar? When did they give us a raise?".

They have a whole midget wrestling league in my area but I've never found time to go.

I got a call for a local wrestling show when I worked on an ambulance. Apparently the wrestler was going crazy through the crowd, got to the concessions and flip over a table so hot sterno splashed a woman in the eye. She was also married to the local chief of the PD. She was cool with it though and refused treatment, said it wasn't a big deal.
