My first job was a McWagie and I vividly remember one of the first tasks I ever had to was clean up the play tubes because some kid pooped in it and smeared shit on the windows. I was only 14 and my manager had to go with me into the playroom to tell all the customers that it'll be shut down for a few hours while I cleaned it up. On an extremely busy Saturday afternoon, imagine telling a bunch of pissed off parents and screaming kids that they can't play because some kid smeared shit. The pissed off look on the parents faces is something I'll never forget. I still can't believe I worked there for over 2 years.

I sometimes feel like working in a restaurant should be mandatory for all citizens (for like 2 years or something once you reach 16). Like... you could choose to either do some time in the military or go work at a restaurant, but you’d have to choose one. Both are great ways of humbling a person and helping them realize how fucking lucky they are that there are people that do these jobs.
