Writing software is NOT engineering and programmers are the socially inept. Lots of trannies, incels, curry, and disturbed in programming and it's always been like this for the most part...

Time marches on, prairie. Should all we go back to the WordStar document format you used on your Kaypro II CP/M machine in 1981

Yes, because CP/M was superior to DOS and Kaypro IIs were cool. Please be careful when you respond to me that you don't break your Code of Conduct.

It is engineering if you approach it as such. I'm currently building a large web app as a personal project and I'm approaching like building a machine. Custom middleware and authentication, optimizing queries, optimizing caching, scheduled tasks, etc. Every part of it needs to run harmoniously with all of the other pieces. Anyway, I'm not setting out to change your mind. But software development can very well be treated as engineering depending on the sophistication and nature of the task.

lol. 99% of it is like being the guy who's good with Excel, except you're the guy who's good with React and Node, or Rust, or ??? If it's engineering then there's a discipline external to the tech, and a lot of times that discipline is being a filing clerk.

What do you mean by a discipline external to the technology?
