I've known ones like that, thinking that users' choices are dumb and they can force things on said users, like forcing them to all change the format of files they use because the old format is inferior. Even though these are read-only files (a kind of media file).

Time marches on, prairie. Should all we go back to the WordStar document format you used on your Kaypro II CP/M machine in 1981, just because you have some of those old files laying around you're too lazy to convert?

This was more akin to making people convert all their mp4 and mov files to mkv files.
