I came to that determination long before I started riding. Split my initial bike budget in half and spent it on safety equipment to increase my odds, lol. Edit: Funny story for the upvote. You weren't asking but yes, I own an airbag vest, lol. Amazingly, in the only fast moving accident I've had (thus far) I forgot to fucking clip it to my bike! Thankfully, it was cold so I had full gear and both the airbag vest and jacket have decent spine protectors built in. Also, somehow, not a scratch on the helmet but completely fucked my boots. Life is weird.
