I didn't say America invented the best music, but that they invented a quantity of music. Americans have written some awesome music ranging from contemporary chamber orchestral music to Billy Joel. Jazz is awesome and so is post rock. Best invention would be fire, but Americans invented some awesome stuff. And you're splitting hairs to pretend otherwise.
