I dont know you or your specfiic situation, but I think God was just on your side. When you decided to make God part of your life, he helped you find your soulmate even in the most unorthodox of places. I believe that this stuff tends to happen when you choose him to be part of your life by following his ways, you begin naturally to filter out potentially negative situations by virtue of your decision to live a good life in truth.
