The whole conference is probably cringe. Even thought they try so hard for "optics" it still is a cringe show and they still get called white supremicists regardless.

The moment you're talking about seems to be at the 6-minute mark. It appears to be an adjustment of microphone gain, or a switching between audio feeds. I wouldn't say it's a "clap track"

Every time I heard the applause they cranked up the audio

Yes, but that doesn't mean fake applause is being used, only that whoever is running the equipment wanted the applause to be more audible.
