Not really. When you love your spouse and are faithful, and get accused of shit you didn't do (with no way to prove you didn't do something) and she keeps asking away, trying to see if you'll slip up, always asking things in an accusing and untrusting tone, that will be a deal breaker for most people. Why should anybody stick around with someone who doesn't trust them? Why should anyone go to work all day to earn money to support someone who spits in your face and accuses you of shit that never even crossed your mind? Anything that starts as annoying at first, if repeated enough, becomes unbearable.

That doesn't happen in relationships that don't have serious problems. In the case you described, they pretty much all boil down to the fact that the woman is a loon.

I wasn't suggesting he was necessarily the one at fault so much that there was already a lack of trust here from one or both parties. Either he had broken her trust in the past or she never trusted him to begin with. Either way, it was a shaky marriage. A kid's lie couldn't destroy a strong marriage.
