They were variously popular in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I remember the cosmetology lab at the trade school I attended offering that in 88 or so.

How are they for jumping? I thought that they were only to be jumped around in.
Are they better than those shoes with the deployable roller skates built in? Admittedly, I always thought that those had some potential as popping down those wheels could allow the wearer to cover distance faster than running, with less effort, but they seemed to only be limited to little kids using them.
Oh man. Jumping was out of the question. I am a big dude, so it just wasn't gonna happen. I remember when I was kid, I could get like a few good inches and then fall a lot.
If you're going for height, get a pogo stick. They make some that hold 250 lbs, and you can get like 4 feet in the air, no joke!
