DM's were an 80's thing. There was so much surplus after Desert Storm (jan 91) you could get real combat boots cheap at any Army/Navy surplus store. I know because I still have mine. ;)

I never saw a single person with actual military boots, they were always brand new docs with steel toe, or sketchers. Or timberlands
