Weren't frosted tips a '00s thing?
Tips were definitely going on in the 90s. I was in the 6th grade in 1998 or so, and this picture of Billie Joe Armstrong was me:

Just put me in a Spitfire or Billabong t-shirt, and there ya go. Also, no tats. But by the early 2000's, the whole Cali surfer-skater thing was boomin', along with that weird Cholo-inspired look all of the early nu-metal bands were going for. The late 90s and early 2000s had this weird Hispanic obsession going on.
Ah, maybe my mistake is thinking that frosted tips only included the spiked-up frosted tips of that 2000s Cali/nu-metal style.
They were variously popular in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I remember the cosmetology lab at the trade school I attended offering that in 88 or so.
I've never seen a pair of Moon Shoes in the wild, tho.
I picked up a pair from the thrift store. They should call them ankle breakers. Fucking impossible to walk in.
Yes. They look like accidents waiting to happen.
impossible to walk in.
How are they for jumping? I thought that they were only to be jumped around in.
Are they better than those shoes with the deployable roller skates built in? Admittedly, I always thought that those had some potential as popping down those wheels could allow the wearer to cover distance faster than running, with less effort, but they seemed to only be limited to little kids using them.
